Headaches have many causes which include physical trauma, certain foods and/or environmental stimuli (noises, lights, stress, etc.). Some headaches are occasional, some frequent, some are dull and achy, others are throbbing.
Sometimes stress and tension in the neck and shoulders causes contractions of the surrounding muscles. When these muscles contract, vertebrae can become misaligned creating pressure on spinal nerves, and ultimately pain. Research shows that spinal manipulation may be an effective treatment option for migraines, tension headaches and headaches that originate in the neck.
After your initial chiropractic examination, we can determine if chiropractic care can help in treating your chronic headaches. A combination of chiropractic adjustments and nutritional and lifestyle changes may help to reduce the frequency and severity of your headaches.
